Steps to make Javanese Fried Rice:

  2. Shrimp paste/belacan/"terasi", corriander seeds, sugar
  3. Salt, white pepper. Crushed until smooth
  4. Add cooking oil at the frying pan, and add the crushed spices, stir fry until fragrant
  5. Add water and mix
  6. Add sweet soy sauce and mix
  7. Add beef and mix
  8. Add bacon and mix
  9. Add frozen vegetables, and mix until the vegetable thawed
  10. Add rice and mix all
  11. Serve it with prawn cracker, cucumber, and sunnyside egg. If you like you could add sambal oelek too.

My favorite variant is to use leftover roasted chicken with the fried rice. It makes it a complete dish. Add back chicken and scrambled egg and remaining soy sauce mixture. Fried rice, a superb way to use up leftover cooked rice, is quite easy to make at home. Avoid using short-grain or sushi rice for this dish, which will result in a starch, clumpy dish.
